Jewelry from Nepal: Individual Pieces

Coin necklaces such as this one were formerly worn throughout Nepal. Their use is fading out except in rural areas.

This is a particularly nice and delicate coin necklace. None of the elements is missing and they are very closely spaced. It is made to slip over the head and measures 27" in length. As with many of these Nepalese coin necklaces, the coins are of Indian origin because of their better quality and wider availability.
