Jewelry from Nepal: Individual Pieces

The elephant-headed god, Ganesh, is revered by Buddhists as well as Hindus. As such, he is the most frequently depicted god in the jewelry of Nepal. He is a benevolent god, the remover of obstacles and the fulfiller of desires.

Here he is shown in a standing position.
